Three Months as an Empty Nester: A Full House, A Full Heart

It’s been three months since I officially became an empty nester—a journey filled with new beginnings, quiet moments, and learning to embrace this new stage of life. But this past weekend, my heart couldn’t have been fuller. All three of my kids were home at the same time, and for 24 wonderful hours, the house was alive again. The sounds of their laughter, the conversations spilling into the kitchen, and the simple joy of being together as a family reminded me of all the reasons I loved our home being so full for so many years. It was a weekend of shared meals, memories, and love—a gift I’ll treasure for a long time to come. As I continue adjusting to this new chapter, moments like this remind me that while our day-to-day may look different, the bonds we’ve built are unbreakable. I’m learning to hold these moments close, even as I step into this season of letting go.

My new hobby

A New Hobby That’s Rising: My Journey Into Sourdough Baking If you’d told me a year ago that I’d be spending my evenings feeding a sourdough starter, I might have laughed. But here I am, measuring flour and water with surprising excitement, watching as this living, bubbling mixture slowly comes to life. What started as a curiosity has quickly become a passion—and maybe even a little obsession. It all began with a desire to create something from scratch. I’d heard about the magic of sourdough—how it’s not just baking bread but nurturing a living culture. So, I did what anyone does these days: I dove into a rabbit hole of YouTube videos, blog posts, and tips from seasoned bakers. Armed with a mason jar and a simple mix of flour and water, I began my journey. Each night, I feed my starter, watching it transform from a lifeless paste to a bubbly, tangy mixture by morning. It’s fascinating to see how it changes—proof that something so simple can hold so much potential. But sourd...

My 75 Hard Journey

I am excited to share my journey with 75 Hard.  I am so excited  This is one of my accountability partners. Everyday she smiles and tells me I Got This. I want to show her that you can do anything you set your mind to! Everything happening around us can throw us off our day. Life can suck some days with covid. The reason I’m doing 75 hard is to be in control of what I eat, not let food control me. I love the outdoors and I get to do it twice a day... a privilege. Read 10 pages a day ... I never read, I listened to podcasts. Totally a podcast junkie. So love the push to read. I get up an hour early and that’s my coffee and read time. #metime Everything else is a bonus on this journey! Day 7 done #75hardchallenge
Hello Beautiful people, So we are now 10 months into Covid. So many emotions but loving the journey. We have been loving the Maritime life. The weather is so different. I was never a cold and snowy girl so this is more my style. lol   Today I stopped working around 2 pm and went for a walk with my husband. We got a Starbucks, which I did not have for a while.  Found a trail that we just broke through the tree and found water. I could hear it and it was so peaceful.  Sometimes you just need to get out of your office and take some YOU time.
Wow, I can't believe it has been exactly one year since a blogged.  So much has changed in my life. I had my head down and I was working hard.  Covid hit and everything changed. I was able to work more hours and finally after a lot of focus transition my family across Canada to move back to my home province. 2020 has been an incredible year for us as we we were able to accomplish this. Not without challenges but we made it happen. We sold our house in July and packed up the three kids and 2 dogs and drove across Canada. From Alberta to New Brunswick.  We lived with family for over 6 weeks and then found a house. It  has already been 2 months since we moved in.  Grateful for the beautiful view we have and being closer to family.  Excited to share our journey!
